Phases and Levels of the Original Maker’s Diet

An Explanation of the Phases and Levels of the Original Maker’s Diet:

The Maker's Diet Phases:

The phases of the Maker’s Diet have to do with what day of the diet you are on, and what you can eat on that day.
The best explanation of the Phases and what to eat on each Phase is in the Success Journal
Makers Success Journal

Phase One is day 1 through day 14.

In Phase One you cleanse your system by giving up all carbohydrates, sugars, pork products, bottom feeding fish and shellfish, processed meats, milk products except for goat’s milk products, beans except for lentils, fruit except for berries and many oil products.

Phase Two is day 15 through day 28.

In Phase Two you are allowed to add certain processed meats, organic cow’s milk and organic cow’s milk products, sweet potatoes, yams and corn, some beans, nuts except for peanuts and cashews, and most fruits to your diet.

Phase Three is day 29 through day 40.

In Phase Three you are allowed to add white potatoes, all beans, all nuts, all fruits, healthy snacks and some breads and brown rice to your diet.

The Maker's Diet Levels:

The Levels of the Maker’s Diet have to do with the supplements that Jordan Rubin suggests that you take. He has structured the diet into Levels so that you can decide what to buy based how much money you can spend and how deep you want to go into the diet. This book was written in 2004. Many of the original products are no longer available. I will list the products here that are still available, give you substitutions when I can, and let you know when there are no substitutions available.

Beginning Level includes:

Living Multiple Vitamin. This item is no longer available. I suggest one of these three substitutions. (Use only the number of pills on the supplement facts. The original vitamin advised 6-9 pills on the supplement facts, but these have much smaller dosages!

Icelandic Cod Liver Oil. Garden of Life still carries the same Cod Liver oil that Jordan talks about in the book.

Clenzology System. This item is no longer available. It contained a natural soap, a facial wash, a tooth oil and an ear wash. It is easy to find soaps now that do not contain sodium laurel sulfate. I carry several soaps and natural toothpastes on my website. Here are a few options:

Intermediate Level includes:

All Beginning Level supplements plus:
The `Cleansing Drink` which is made from:
Perfect Food super green food Powder (two servings per day). Since the book was written, Garden of Life has created many varieties of Perfect Food. They are all appropriate for the Maker's Diet. The original one was called "Super Green Formula" and it is still available if you want it.

Super Seed whole fiber blend (two servings per day). The original Super Seed (Whole Fiber Blend) is still available, as well as a more organic version called Raw Fiber.

Advanced Level includes:

All beginning and Intermediate Level supplements plus:
Am & PM Aromatherapy: These are discontinued products however, Jordan Rubin has a new company called Ancient Nutrition, and he has some oils that he recommends from his new company. These oils were intended to rub between your hands and inhale. For the AM Aromatherapy, Jordan recommends either the Orange Oil or the Frankincense Trinity Oil. for the PM Aromatherapy, Jordan recommends his new Rest and Restore Oil.
Alpha and Omega Cleanse: This was an oil in a capsule to be taken morning and night. It is discontinued and there really is not a good substitute.

Other products that are discussed in the Maker’s Diet but are not actually part of the diet include:

Primal Defense is the Soil Based Organism or SBO (or HSO) that Jordan talked about in the book.
Goatein Protein Powder is the goat's milk protein powder that Jordan referred to in the book.
